At Bunandi Primary School, Grade 9 student Maryline Chizah, who also serves as the head of sanitation, has seen the difference PLIKEN’s Confidence Kit can make. Before, many girls missed school during their menstrual periods, falling behind in their studies and losing confidence.
With the introduction of the Confidence Kit, Chiza’s own school life changed; she can now attend classes every day without interruption. More than that, she has noticed a wider impact across the school. “Since I received the kit, I can come to school every day, and I have noticed that most of the other girls no longer miss school during their menses,” she explains. For Maryline, the kit has brought dignity, confidence, and equal opportunity, not only for herself but for many of her peers as well.
